Perkins creates linear paper sculptures inspired by the building patterns in her cityscape. Although her sculptures look to be wire they are actually woven and painted Lokta paper twine or yarn. The grids are then given life and motion through Perkins shaping and contouring the grids inviting the viewer to experience a new perspective. The surprising choice of material allows for a truly malleable living sculpture with the ability to shift and change illustrating transformation and resilience through spatial relationships.
